All naturists and nudists in the world – @Nakedworldwide
@Nakedworldwide was a project to see how many genuine naturist and nudist profiles exist on Twitter. It started January 2021 and ended March 2024.
I stopped the project because it was not successful. Mostly because I choose to spend my time on more relevant things in life. And now with the shift from Twitter to Bluesky, this is a good moment to end it.
This is what the project was about
To improve the reading experience on this page I use naturist and nudist as if these words were 100% synonyms. (There is already plenty of discussion about these words on other sites).
Criteria used to identify a profile as genuine naturist
- The profile indicates in the header a clear reference to naturism
- You have a profile picture and header image
- Tweets are (at least sometimes) about naturism
- Tweets are (at least sometimes) original content
- Your profile exists for more than 6 months and has at least 100 followers
- You have at least 20 original tweets (retweets are not original tweets)
- You use Twitter at least once a month
- Private (locked) profiles get a request to open.
A profile is not genuine naturist
…if it contains one or more of the following:
- Only retweets without adding new original content
- Photos from others without crediting the creator
- Voyeurism
- Exhibitionism
- Sex and porn
Why is @Nakedworldwide a private account?
For some reason the Twitter algorithm is actively showing @Nakedworldwide to unwanted accounts. Also the bots love my account. So I had make the account private (locked). I tried a few times to unlock, but immediately I got dozens of unwanted followers. Sometimes even more than 100 in one day.
And even funnier about the Twitter algorithm is that my personal account @NatamsNL is shadowbanned. This means it is only visible for people who are actively looking for it.
How to get listed
That’s very easy. Just follow @Nakedworldwide and I will visit your profile. If you meet the criteria, you will be followed back and are considered to be a genuine naturist / nudist!
If you don’t meet the criteria, you might be blocked.
I blocked your profile
To make life easier for me, I block any profile that does not qualify as genuine according to the rules just mentioned. Otherwise these profiles might keep popping up in the suggestions Twitter generates. Being blocked does not mean I disapprove with the content you tweet. The only meaningĀ is you don’t meet the criteria as mentioned above.
If you would like to be listed and you think I blocked your account for the wrong reasons, just send me a direct message.
In my personal account @NatAmsNL I don’t block anybody who is interested to follow me. I might not like what you post. When you abuse #nudist to get more attention to your content I strongly disapprove. But that is still no reason to block you. I do hope my profile helps you understanding the meaning of the words naturism and nudism so you will only use them correctly in the future.
Final notes
This project started 19 January 2021. The sole purpose is to get an idea of how many people have a Twitter account dedicated to naturism/nudism. People will not be spammed or any other unwanted interaction.
Some people already help me by pointing out profiles that are listed but don’t meet the criteria. If you see such a profile that is followed by @Nakedworldwide, please send a direct message to @Nakedworldwide and I will review that profile as soon as possible.
The only thing to keep in mind is that the accounts that are followed by All Naturists and Nudists of the World are publicly visible. I follow all the privacy rules of EU and Twitter. The only way to be sure you will not be seen as one of the profiles that is followed by this account is to block it.
Please contact me if you have any questions about this project.
